Welcome to Explorers 2022 online

In November 2022 the Explorers Project, led by Project Art Works, held the Explorers 2022 Event at Tate Liverpool supported by the Plus Tate Network.

Explorers 2022 brought together national conversations about how cultural institutions can evolve into more caring and inclusive spaces. The event embraced agency in art, systems of care and different artist development practices. The event set out to be non-didactic and accessible and to include a majority of contributors with lived experience of disability, neurodivergence or as caregivers.

This film was made by Jon Randle of Mind Riot and commissioned by supported studio Art Riot Collective from Coventry. It shows the experience of the artists from Art Riot Collective contributing towards the programme of the Explorers Event in their way.
